Barnacle Goose (feral)

An unusual & feral visitor to the reservoir. Like the Greylag Goose it is normally to be seen with roosting flocks of Canada Geese.

04/04/84 - Single bird.

31/10/97 - Single bird with Canada Geese.

28/10/98 - Single bird with Canada Geese. Seen again on 09/11 & 14/11.

27/10/99 - Single bird with Canada Geese. Seen again on 05/11, 12/11, 27/11, 28/11, 01/12, 03/12 & 11/12.

13/01/00 - Single bird with Canada Geese. Remained through the month.

07/08/01 - Single bird.

20/07/03 - Single hybrid goose believed to be part Barnacle.

10/10/05 - Single bird
