No date - Single bird singing. (BS)
No date - Single bird heard
02/11/96 - Single bird singing briefly (HCS);calling on 08/11 (DWH). & again on 08/12
??/01/97 - The above bird survived the freeze & was seen again in January (once in the rough field by the sewage works ) & again on 01/03
2007 - Rather surprisingly none have been reported in the last 10 years despite them being resident on the Somerset Levels
2023 - Single bird gave brief song near the hide after 26 year absence on 11/11 (KGH). It was also seen creeping through the bushes at dusk on the same day. Seen again and heard calling (no song) on 14/11. Just 3 seconds of song on 17/11 after a few calls. All activity was at dusk. It seemed to be in loose association with other small birds in the bushes - Chiffchaff, Blue Tit, Goldcrest and Robin.
2024 - Again a single bird, but this time only heard singing once on 03/11 (Roger Lindsay)
2025 - Presumed to breed this year. Song heard almost daily for 3 months from 20/03 to 16/06. Heard again on 3 dates in October and 4 dates in December mostly brief snatches of song at dusk near the hide.
