Jack Snipe

A very rare winter visitor to the reservoir. Two records to date.

04/12/55 - Single bird. (DEP)

16/02/99 - Single bird flushed from 'Jim's field' when almost stepped on. Silent when flushed. Returned to same field & flushed a further 2 times. Short bill noted in flight. (DWH)

16/10/16 - One possible in SE reedbed. Constant bobbing action noted (SH)

16/02/25 - Single bird in SE corner flushed and flew a very short distance (AG)
