A regular resident & breeding bird to the reserve. Less common in recent years.

Maximum of 4 seen on many dates

??/03/99 - 3 singing males

2008 - A pair in April, but not seen from May to August

2009 - Sporadic singles until December when 1 or 2 present most days

2010 - Up to 5 in the winter periods, but none reported in spring, summer or autumn

2011 - Up to 3 through the year

2012 - 1 or 2 on 18 winter dates

2013 - Not seen so often with reduced feed being supplied. But 4+ on 16/12

2014 - Mostly singles through the first half of the year, but 2 in January and 5 on 3/02. None from July to November inclusive

2015 - The only records were of singles on 26/06, 29/06, 30/10 and 25/11

2016 - The only records were of 2 on 10/04, 1 on 08/06, 1 heard on 01/10 and 2 seen on 14/10

2017 - 1 or 2 recorded on 9 dates, mostly winter but also July. Probably overlooked.

2018 - 1 on 06/03, 1 at peanut feeder on 17/07, a pair at north end on 12/09 and heard at north end on 08/12

2019 - Recorded on 30 dates at various times during the year mostly at the feeders at the south end, but also seen on the east side and north end. Singing heard from the West side in Jim's field on 13/04.

2020 - Recorded on 13 dates. Seen carrying food in April and May at the south end.

2021 - Singles seen at the north end in January and February

2022 - Singles seen and heard at north, south and east sides of the reservoir through the year

2023 - Recorded on 10 dates with a pair at the south end during March/April.
