Nest Boxes in 2011

 

Chard Reservoir Nature Reserve Woodland Nesting Boxes. 2010/11

The volunteers have finished cleaning, repairing and recording the nesting boxes erected in the woodland.

A total of 91 boxes are in place.

88 of these are small species boxes. 65 boxes contained nests, mostly Tits.

The remainder of the boxes had evidence of roosting.

4 boxes were used by Nuthatch.

3 boxes are large owl boxes and remain unexamined.

Evidence of dormice nests in seven boxes.
